Jessika is 16 years-old and was born with severe cerebral palsy. She needs assistance 24 hours a day, is in daily pain, and can’t do most activities many able-bodied people take for granted.
To do just about everything in her life, Jessika has to use specialised equipment and therapy.
So for Jess and her mum Jayne, any research that can improve Jess’ comfort and participation in life is vital.
Without her extensive range of specialised equipment, she can’t gossip with friends, go to sleep overs, participate at school, go to the bathroom, use a computer, go on holidays, enjoy social outings or even have a peaceful night’s sleep without help.
Her list of equipment includes a lightweight aluminium wheelchair, modified car, ‘Sip and Puff’ switch to use a computer, height adjustable sleep positioning system, shower bed and height adjustable chair.
